Francesco Vidè

Francesco Vidè is an Assistant Professor of Practice in Government, Health and Not for Profit at SDA Bocconi School of Management. His work focuses on research, executive education, and supporting change processes within public-sector organizations, with particular emphasis on organizational design, human resource management and performance management.

His main areas of interest include organizational design and strategic human resource management systems from a competency management perspective, including competency model development, workforce planning, individual performance measurement and evaluation, training and human capital development, recruitment and selection.

Teaching and coordination – Within the Executive Master in Management of Public Administrations (EMMAP), he coordinates the “Strategic HR in Public Administration” module, the Action Learning Projects, and the International Learning Visit. He also coordinates the Government Academy, SDA Bocconi’s portfolio of open courses for public-sector executives and professionals. He teaches in a wide range of master’s, executive education, and university programs.

Research, networks and conferences – He is Co-Chair of the “Public Sector Performance and Value(s)” Research Group of the European Network of Public Administration (ENPA). His research focuses primarily on performance management and strategic human resource management in public administration. He has presented and discussed his work at national and international academic conferences and within scientific networks, and has contributed to numerous research reports, working papers and academic articles published in peer-reviewed journals, including Public Administration, Review of Public Personnel Administration, International Journal of Public Sector Management, and Public Money & Management.

He holds an MSc in Economics and Management of Government and International Organizations from Bocconi University and a PhD in Public Management and Governance from the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
