Niccolò Cusumano

Cusumano Niccolò is an Associate Professor of Practice in Government, Health and Not for Profit at SDA Bocconi School of Management.

His collaboration with SDA Bocconi began in 2012. He has participated in several research projects for public institutions and companies. He is part of the faculty of several masters and open and custom executive courses. As a Contract professor at Università Bocconi, he teaches Project Management & Funding of International Programs. Since 2017 he has coordinated the advanced course in Health Contracting and Purchasing Management (MASAN).

His research activity focuses on public-private interactions, in particular in the context of public procurement, public private partnerships, impact investing. Another stream of his research focuses on sustainability: renewable energy sources, energy efficiency policies for which he has participated in numerous research projects and written scientific papers. He is part of the research team of the SDA Bocconi Observatory - Cergas MASAN, on procurement and contracts in the healthcare sector.

He is the author of numerous essays and academic papers concerning his topics of interest. His work has been published in EGEA, Greenleaf Publishing, Palgrave Mcmillan, Environmental Science & Policy, Energy Policy and the Public Management Review. He contributes regularly to the debate on the topics he deals with by publishing articles in specialized magazines - Staffetta Quotidiana - and national newspapers - Il Sole 24 Ore Sanità, Edilizia e Territorio.

He graduated in Economics and Management of International Public Institutions and a has a double Degree in Management of Public Administrations and International Institutions from Università Bocconi and a Master in Territorial and Urban Strategies at Sciences-Po. Finally he received a doctorate in Management from the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies.
