Scaling up new ventures

One of the biggest challenges for entrepreneurs is to power up their business, taking it from the start-up to the scale-up phase. After reaching the MVP phase (Minimum Viable Product), the company can focus on building a business model and testing the economic viability of the original idea. During this second, delicate transition, entrepreneurs should start investing in scalability to boost revenues and secure long-term profitability. This scale-up phase presents a new challenge that calls for a specific set of skills, different from the ones used in the start-up phase. This podcast is presented by Renzo A. Cenciarini, Associate Professor of Practice of Corporate Finance and Real Estate at SDA Bocconi School of Management and Course Director for Managing the Growing Entrepreneurial Venture at Bocconi University. Prof Cenciarini takes us through the steps to follow to shift gears, from starting up a scalable business to setting up professional company management.
