Last May, the learning path of the Master in Corporate Finance (MCF) ended with two new tracks: ā€œGovernance, Innovation and ESG Financeā€ and ā€œFintech and Investment Management Solutionā€.

Ā

Coordinated by Prof. Stefania Carraro, the "Governance, Innovation and ESG Finance" track brings together exceptional faculty and distinguished guests, including Prof. Michele Calcaterra, Prof. Alessandro Minichilli, Gianluca Manca from European Banking Federation, Giulio Bonazzi (CEO at Aquafil), Attilio Bruzzese (CFO at San Lorenzo Yacht), and Filippo Bettini (Senior Advisor for Sustainability at Pirelli).

Ā

This comprehensive track offers students the opportunity to explore the dynamic landscape of sustainable investing. It provides them with the knowledge and skills needed to integrate ESG factors into investment decisions, assess climate risk, and incorporate its implications into financial models. The curriculum also focuses on corporate governance, specifically targeting family-controlled firms. Topics covered include ownership structures, governance mechanisms, and the distinct challenges and solutions faced by such firms, establishing a strong link to private equity and entrepreneurship.

Ā

The innovation module delves into essential topics such as circular business models, circular economy principles, and the process of transitioning to circularity across diverse organizations. Esteemed guest speakers from Aquafil and Cantieri Navali San Lorenzo share their invaluable insights on circular innovation and sustainability within their respective industries.

Ā

Strategies aimed at achieving a circular economy are extensively examined, encompassing resource efficiency, reevaluation of products and processes, and active customer engagement through innovative product ownership models. The track offers a comprehensive understanding of these strategies and their practical application in real-world scenarios.

Ā

Coordinated by Prof. Massimo Della Ragione, the ā€œFintech and Investment Management Solutionā€ track shares the following topics with students:

  • The definition of the FinTech market and its different verticals: Payments, Credit Tech, InsurTech, BNPL, Digital Banking, and Asset Management.
  • The size and the nature of the activity, in terms of M&A and private capital markets both at European and global level. Market trends are supported by experiences of market participants and leading investment banks, such as Goldman Sachs, Citi, and Jefferies.
  • The impact of digitalization on the different business models, in terms of product evolution, distribution strategy and team structure. A specific focus covers the investorsā€™ perspective after the recent market turnaround.

Ā

Moreover, it hosted the greatest figures from the Italian fintech world, such as Simone Mancini, CEO and Founder of Scalapay; George Ottathycal Kuruvilla, CEO and Founder of Prima Assicurazioni; and Roberto Nicastro, Founder and Chairman of Banca Aidexa.

Ā

Thank you to our faculty and guests. Our students are now ready for their individual paths to success.

Good luck and see you in autumn!
