BAIC 2025 Conference: Building bridges, sparking dialogue, and inspiring innovation

The Fourth edition of the Bocconi Assembly for Innovation and Cooperation (BAIC) returns to SDA Bocconi School of Management with a renewed commitment to shaping the future of research in management and technology. Organized by the Department of Management and Technology of Bocconi University in collaboration with SDA Bocconi and ICRIOS, the event brings together world-class scholars and thought leaders for two days of keynotes, panels, and discussions on themes that are reshaping organizations and society as a whole.

Since its inception in 2019, BAIC has been more than a traditional academic gathering. Its core pillars, cooperation and innovation, reflect themes that cut across disciplines and are central to both academic inquiry and real-world impact.

The conference is intentionally broad and inclusive, designed to engage not only the Bocconi research community but also the global network of top scholars with whom it collaborates. This year’s edition continues this approach, welcoming contributions that respond to major global challenges while fostering collaboration across fields and institutions.

A defining goal of BAIC is its generative nature: the conference is designed as a space that sparks new ideas, fosters emerging collaborations, and launches future lines of inquiry. Over the years, this approach has already led to tangible academic outcomes, showing how the exchange of perspectives at BAIC can lead to lasting contributions to the field.

BAIC reflects the SDA Bocconi mindset: one rooted in applied insight, curiosity, and relevance. Research here is never detached from reality; it is deeply engaged with the phenomena unfolding in the world around us.

The 2025 agenda reflects this philosophy, addressing some of the most urgent questions facing organizations today.

Three Panels. One Global Context.

  1. Inequality and organizations: How does inequality manifest within organizations, and what can we do about it? This panel brings together researchers who have made significant contributions to our understanding of power, fairness, and inclusion in organizational settings.
  2. AI in practice at firms and work: With the rapid spread of generative AI tools, firms are facing both opportunities and adjustment costs. This panel examines how AI is transforming work, risk, and innovation and what organizations must do to adapt effectively to these changes.
  3. Remote and digital work: What began as a crisis-driven shift during the pandemic has now become a structural transformation in how we work. This panel examines how remote collaboration and digital infrastructures are reshaping organizational design.
