Umberto Filotto is an Affiliate Professor of Banking and Insurance at SDA Bocconi School of Management. He is a Full Professor of Banking at the Università di Roma “Tor Vergata”; before that he was a Professor at Università Bocconi, Università di Parma, Università di Lecce – Salento and Università di Napoli Parthenope
He has collaborated with SDA Bocconi since 1985. He has conducted numerous seminars and consulting projects with leading Italian and international companies.
His research activities focus on retail banking, consumer and mortgage credit, banking organization, law and economics and financial education.

He is the Secretary General of Assofin, the Italian Consumer Credit Association, Vice Chairman of Eurofinas, the European Federation of Consumer Credit Associations, a member of several technical committees of the Italian Banking Association and of the Steering Committee of the Italian Banking Financial Ombudsman (Conciliatore Bancario e Finanziario). He is a member of the Board of Cardif Vita S.p.A. (BNPParibas Group). He is a coordinator of the Scientific Commmittee of Feduf, the Italian Foundation for Financial Education. Umberto chairs the Auditor Committee of the Italian Association of Banking and Finance Professors (ADEIMF) and is a member of AIDEA, the Italian Academy of Business Administration and Management.
Umberto earned a degree in Business Administration from Università Bocconi.
