Umberto Filotto is Affiliate Professor of Banking and Insurance at SDA Bocconi School of Management. He is Full Professor of Banking at the University of Roma “Tor Vergata”; before that he was a Professor in Bocconi University, in University of Parma, in University of Lecce – Salento, and in University Parthenope in Naples.
He cooperates with SDA Bocconi since 1985. He conducted numerous seminars and consulting project with leading Italian and international companies.
His research activities focus on retail banking, consumer and mortgage credit, banking organization, law and economics and financial education.

He sits in many committees of the Italian Banking Association and it the Board of the Italian Banking Financial Ombudsman (Conciliatore Bancario e Finanziario). He is member of the Board of Cardif Vita S.p.A. (BNPParibas Group). He is a member of the Scientific Commmittee of Feduf, the Italian Foundation for Financial Education. Umberto chairs the Auditor Committee of the Italian Association of Banking and Finance Professors (ADEIMF) and is a member of AIDEA the Italian Academy of Business Administration and Management.
Umberto earned a Degree in Business Economics from Bocconi University; during his university studies he attended summer school courses in Villanova and Temple Universities (Philadelphia).
