Biography
Alexander Maximilian Hiedemann is a Lecturer in Government, Health and Not-for-Profit at SDA Bocconi School of Management and Assistant to the Director of the MSc in Cyber Risk Strategy and Governance at Bocconi University. Since joining SDA Bocconi in 2015, he has served as Coordinator of the Executive Master in Management of International Organizations (EMMIO) and has managed research and executive education programmes for leading public-sector institutions at both national level (including local authorities, public agencies, social security institutions, and central government bodies) and international level, working with governmental and non-governmental organisations. He is the course leader for both open-enrolment and custom programmes in Process and Project Management, Operations and Risk Management, and Operations and Supply Chain Management in humanitarian aid. Within EMMAP, the Executive Master in Management of Public Administrations, he is also responsible for the international module in “Comparative Public Management”. He has developed online courses and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), including Management of International Development: Towards Agenda 2030, offered by Bocconi University. He is also a Faculty Member in Project Management at the SDA Bocconi Asia Center in Mumbai. He has designed executive education programmes and conducted research for numerous public institutions in Italy and abroad. His research focuses on Operations Management in public administration and international institutions. More recently, he has taken part in research groups working on topics such as the Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030), the combined application of Lean and Nudge approaches, digital growth, and the evolution of management models for humanitarian operations. Alexander holds a degree in Economics of Public Administrations and International Institutions from the University of Ferrara, an MSc in CLAPI - Economics and Management of Public Administrations and International Institutions from Bocconi University, and a PhD in Economics and Management of Innovation and Sustainability (EMIS) from the University of Ferrara, in partnership with the University of Parma.
