Main Goal

High-potentials assigned to their first significant leadership role need to prove themselves to their superiors, their teams, and peers. Succeeding requires a profound change in both skills and mindset: from a talent who delivers value individually to a leader who creates value with and through others. The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is designed to enable you to manage this critical transition and realize your full leadership potential.

Two leading European management schools - SDA Bocconi and ESMT Berlin - joint forces and offer the ELP as an opportunity to learn from distinguished faculty, build a network across national, sectorial and organizational boundaries, and prepare you for your future as a leader.

In the first module, delivered at ESMT Campus Berlin, you will develop insights and acquire tools to help you deal with the multifaceted context in which leadership plays out when effective leadership requires actively managing up, down, and laterally. In the second module, delivered on campus of SDA Bocconi’s School of Management in Milan, you will reflect on the responsibilities you have accepted as a future leader. Through intense interactions with faculty and peers, you will explore the psychological and ethical foundations of leadership and work on preparing a foundation for your own individual path to leadership. In addition to the two modules, faculty lead online sessions (announced during module 1) and peer coaching will enhance learning, exchange, and the development of a network that will become a useful resource beyond your Emerging Leaders Program sessions.
