Space as a driver for sustainable development

Space research and technology are indispensable to more than 50% of the 169 objectives underpinning the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations. This means that space represents a key tool for accelerating sustainable development processes on a global scale.

At the same time, the long-term sustainability of space activities will allow us to maintain a safe and stable space environment and help us preserve it as a common good for future generations.

In this podcast, we’ll hear from Simonetta Di Pippo, Professor of Practice of Space Economy at SDA Bocconi, where she heads the Space Economy Evolution Lab. She’ll be telling us about the essential role that space activities play in sustainable socio-economic development.
