The role of private capital in the implementation of public infrastructure

Public-private partnerships can contribute to the implementation of many investments not only by ensuring that costs and timelines are met, but also by increasing the degree of innovation and quality in the services offered to communities. In the context of public infrastructure in Italy, however, the use of private capital has been established without any real awareness of the potential of this tool in fostering the achievement of innovation and sustainability goals.

In this Sustainability Talks Series podcast, Veronica Vecchi, Professor of Practice of Business and Government Relations at SDA Bocconi and Scientific Director of INVESTinIT lab, and Marco Serifio, Senior Advisor and Business Development Director at Meridiam, talk about the importance that private capital can have in accelerating the implementation of public infrastructure to achieve environmental and social sustainability goals.
