The digital revolution, SDGs and women’s empowerment

Live Event

Nobel Peace laureate Muhammad Yunus said "the quickest way to get out of poverty right now is to have one mobile telephone".

The digital revolution, through the spread of the Internet and mobile phones, has reached parts of the world with otherwise poor infrastructure. To what extent does this boost the opportunity to reach Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?

In particular, is the digital revolution the crucial instrument to push women's empowerment?

We have discussed this topic taking a global perspective. We have started from recent and exciting research findings, focusing on the importance of reducing digital divides and on the role of companies in the digital sector. Then, we have talked about the broader challenges and opportunities for businesses.
