SDA Bocconi and Bocconi University have moved up one position to sixth place in Europe in theĀ  European Business School Ranking 2016 published today by the Financial Times.

The British newspaper creates the ranking by using results from four of the five classifications they produce every year. One is on Master of Science programs in Finance (which, however does not influence todayā€™s ranking) and one on MSc programs in International Management. Bocconiā€™s programs placed 9th and 11th, respectively, worldwide. Financial Times also has three different rankings of the executive education offered by the SDA Bocconi School of Management, particularly the MBA (9th in Europe), the Executive MBA (36th in Europe) and in the overall Executive Education ranking (5th in Europe for custom programs).

ā€œIn recent years, Bocconi has continually and systematically, with the work set out by the previous rector Andrea Sironi and his team, invested in internationalization of teaching, building programs that are able to meet new demands of the job market and educating generations of young people who know how to interpret the real world and improve it,ā€ says Gianmario Verona, Rector of Bocconi. ā€œTodayā€™s announcement is the result of this continuous pressure towards improvement and innovation. It is in our DNA, and that is why in the future we will continue in our project of making Bocconi a university of reference in Europe for students and researchers. We will do this by focusing increasingly on human capital and the close link between cutting edge research and teaching, where a solid foundation in data science is being introduced.ā€

The FT ranking marks the close of a positive year for Bocconi and SDA Bocconi, the only Italian B-School included in all the most important international rankings. Among the many positions reached, Forbes placed the MBA of SDA Bocconi in 4th place among the best programs taught outside the US, Bloomberg Businessweek placed it 12th and, for The Economist, in 2016 the MBA made the top ten in Europe.

In the World University Rankings, published by Times Higher Education, where Bocconi debuted at 8th place in Europe in the area of Business & Economics, to the QS rankings (6th in Europe for Business & Management, 5th for Economics and Econometrics and 7th for Finance & Accounting).
