Italian finance SDA Professor Claudio Zara, SDA Professor, Banking and Insurance Department and coordinator of the program Analisi strategico-finanziaria d'impresa, calls for flexibility in eurozone rules covering government-financed bailouts in cases where banks' bad-debt burdens were largely caused by economic downturns - as in Italy.

Claudio Zara: In general terms, I think the results are good. They show the general resilience of the European banking system, and basically the results were as expected. No surprises.
