Main Goal

As senior leaders increase and improve their responsibilities over time, they must deal with the ever-increasing complexity of their
job and the need to take an even broader and more intricate set of stakeholders into account.

Making strategic choices in this context requires innovative and unconventional approaches to management and leadership as well as an understanding of how to master a complete framework of the challenges that companies face. This Program offers a change of perspective and a broadening of horizons for those at the height of their career. As senior managers, it’s imperative to be able to think ahead, learn to read the context and how it impacts the business and adjust accordingly.

The Senior Management Program helps participants find the gaps in their scope of attention, exploring both the micro- and macrocosm of their business that they might be overlooking while focusing on their daily challenges. This allows them to reflect on contextual elements, such as macro-trends and the non-market (political and social) environment, that they might not typically focus on.

This is the latest generation of SDA Bocconi’s Senior Management Program. Throughout its long tradition, SMP has continuously evolved to reflect the most recent challenges – and it will now evolve again under new direction. Although the Program remains anchored to its roots, it has adapted to emerging inputs and contexts to provide new and necessary perspective for senior executives. It is now the result of a productive partnership between two leading European Schools: SDA Bocconi School of Management and ESMT Berlin.
