Curriculum Vitae

Gianluigi Castelli is Associate Professor of Practice of Information Systems at SDA Bocconi School of Management.

At SDA Bocconi, he is Director of the DEVO Lab (Digital Enterprise Value and Organisation Laboratory). He has led large technology research projects (software) in the framework of the EC funded programs (OMI). He has led workgroups drafting the ICT strategic guidelines for important European Institutions.

His research activities focus on information systems, ICT transformation, digital transformation and information technology.

He is the author of two books on programming and author of more than 30 papers on software development methodologies, programming languages, compiler and operating system design. He has been CIO of large multinational companies in Italy and abroad. He received the following awards: European Commission Information Technology European Award ITEA’95 (1995); EUCIP Best Italian CIO (2009); Oracle Excellence Award – CIO of the Year EMEA (2013). He has been an executive for Infostrada, Fiat, Vodafone, Eni and Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane.

Gianluigi earned a Degree in Physics, specialty Cybernetics from the University of Milan. Hobbies include collecting classic cars and bikes and sailing.
