Corporate Governance Lab
The Corporate Governance Lab aims to disseminate knowledge and frontier best practices on the topic of corporate governance structures and processes with the goal of contributing to their strengthening and, thus, long-term successful performance.
The Laboratory and its monitoring activities are supported by a group of companies engaged with the topic of corporate governance. PWC TLS is the Laboratory’s technical and scientific partner. Banca Generali is the main partner of the Business Observatory. Eric Salmon & Partners is the partner of the Women Executives Observatory.

The Corporate Governance Lab: Why?
SDA Bocconi's Corporate Governance Lab is characterized by a two-speed approach. On the one hand, it is broadly aimed at companies in all sectors: from listed to unlisted companies, from industrial companies to banks, from small to medium-sized organizations, to the most structured. On the other, it focuses attention on two specific issues:
- the challenges and solutions for large listed companies, looking beyond compliance
- the multifaceted challenges for unlisted companies, enhancing their specificities while applying lessons learned from the case stories of listed companies.
The added value offered by SDA Bocconi to Corporate Governance Lab participants is related to its wealth of experience. In fact, the School has been serving a variety of businesses and organizations in Italy since its founding, and it acts on the basis of a combination of solidity, capacity and network:
- solidity: guaranteed by many years of experience in research and dissemination activities, developed through specific research but also through the national and international observatories on the subject of SDA Bocconi and Bocconi University
- ability: guaranteed by the Executive Education courses, for over twenty years for insiders, included in SDA Bocconi's MBA and Executive MBA programs, and in Borsa Italiana's Elite Project
- network: guaranteed by collaborative relationships with prestigious companies and institutions in Italy and abroad.

Good governance is one of the key determinants of value creation in the medium and long term and is statistically proven to lead to successful strategies and better economic-financial and ESG performance.
