E&M: A round trip journey to China

The Dossier of 2023’s first issue of Economia&Management focuses on China, how near it is, and yet how much distance lies between us. “Observing China is in fact a voyage within ourselves, in which we run the risk of discovering things that we would have preferred not to know, and in which our destiny could be to have to choose what perhaps we do not want,” as Editor-in-Chief Fabrizio Perretti writes in his editorial.

Today, China represents an indispensable interlocutor for anyone looking beyond their national borders. This country is a major trading partner for Europe, but also a powerful player that the US looks on with suspicion. The articles in the Dossier revolve around myriad aspects that characterize our multi-faceted relationship with the Land of the Dragon: economic-managerial, political, commercial and cultural in a broad sense.

This issue’s Focus is dedicated to SMEs and the challenges they will have to face in the delicate economic scenario that is looming on the horizon, analyzing tools, skills and processes.

Rounding out the issue is a podcast by the Dean of SDA Bocconi, Stefano Caselli on tax regulation as a tool for growth, along with additional articles on topics like internationalization, performance evaluation, business strategy and human resource management.
