Healthcare

Established in 2023, the LOPS Network serves as a platform for dialogue and professional development for those who lead, manage, and design Emergency Department (ED) processes.
Through a carefully designed combination of classroom teaching, experiential learning activities, and structured dialogue around national and international best practices, the Network supports ED leadership teams and coordinators in understanding the evolving healthcare landscape and advancing innovative managerial methods and tools to effectively govern and optimize Emergency Department operations.

Why the LOPS Network

The LOPS Network is a structured platform for professional dialogue and development designed for those who aim to:

  • Understand and anticipate the evolving trajectories of Emergency Departments within a rapidly changing regulatory and institutional landscape (DM77, 116117, PNRR, ministerial reforms, etc.)
  • Acquire, apply, and further innovate Operations Management methodologies and tools to address the core challenges facing Emergency Departments
  • Engage in peer exchange and test new managerial approaches

The LOPS Network offers:

5 discussion workshops

The LOPS Network is designed for professionals and organizational teams involved in Emergency Department leadership and coordination, Nursing and Medical Leadership, Operations Management, Management Control, and Regional 118 Emergency Service management.

The format includes 5 workshops designed with a hands-on, lab-based approach, aimed at fostering interaction between participants and SDA Bocconi faculty, with a focus on industry dynamics and the promotion of executive innovation in the fields of logistics and operations.

Each workshop combines theory, practice and exchange moments in an effective way and is divided into 6 steps:

Theoretical framework introduction and definition by the course faculty
Group work
Networking lunch
Open discussion on the topics addressed
Debriefing and take home by the faculty
Post-event material sharing and working document prepared by SDA Bocconi faculty.

Network DASP

Innovating processes and assessing workforce requirements for emergency department sustainability

In its third edition, the LOPS Network will work with its Community to explore and further develop two frontier topics: process innovation and remote management models, and the assessment of workforce requirements (from physicians to social workers). Each topic will be addressed over multiple sessions to enable participants to acquire new methodologies, test practical applications, and engage in structured peer exchange—fully embracing the spirit of a learning- and transformation-oriented network.
