Milano, December 16 Leone Alato, Generali's agribusiness and wine holding company, is the first Italian agricultural company to have its CO2 emission reduction targets approved by the Science Based Target initiative, a prestigious international network born from the collaboration between World Resource Institute, Carbon Disclosure Project, United Nations Global Compact and WWF.

(Teleborsa) - Leone Alato, Generali's agribusiness and wine holding company, is the first Italian agricultural company to have its CO2 emission reduction targets approved by the Science Based Target initiative, an international network born from the collaboration between World Resource Institute, Carbon Disclosure Project, United Nations Global Compact and WWF.

It is a primary sector undergoing great transformation that emerges from the second "Agriculture between innovation and sustainability" report produced by the Invernizzi Agri Lab of SDA Bocconi School of Management in partnership with Crédit Agricole Italia and presented Monday, Dec. 9, at Crédit Agricole Green Life in Parma. While the first volume of the research investigated the financial and organizational dimensions of farms, with the protection of biodiversity found to be essential not only for environmental reasons but for an optimization of yields and product quality, in the second volume the analysis progresses by focusing on Organic, Sustainability, Energy Transition, PDO Economy, innovation and involvement of young entrepreneurs in governance.

The Farming for Future Foundation was officially launched in Milano at the Intesa Sanpaolo Convention Hall. Created to give continuity and momentum to the project of the same name launched by CIB-Consorzio Italiano Biogas in October 2020, it aims to bring agriculture to the center of European policies for the energy and agroecological transition through the 10 actions of the Farming for Future manifesto.

With scientific support from SDA Bocconi's Invernizzi AGRI Lab, Generazione Cibo aims to build a space for reflection and debate on carbon farming and stimulate a new supporting legislative framework. Partners in the initiative include Assalzoo, Assica, XFarm, Genagricola and Oleificio Zucchi.
