Biografia
Catherine Eunice De Vries è Dean per gli International Affairs e Professoressa di Political Science presso l'Università Bocconi. È anche Ricercatrice Associata presso il Centro Dondena per la Ricerca sulle Dinamiche Sociali e le Politiche Pubbliche, il Bocconi COVID Crisis Lab, il Bocconi Lab in European Studies e il CLEAN Unit for the Economic Analysis of Crime del centro di ricerca BAFFI-CAREFIN.
Il suo lavoro può essere ampiamente situato nelle aree del comportamento politico, dell'economia politica e della politica dell'UE, ed è apparso nelle principali riviste di scienze politiche, come l'American Political Science Review, l'Annual Review of Political Science e il Journal of Politics. Ha pubblicato diversi libri. Il suo primo libro "Euroscepticism and the Future of European Integration" (Oxford University Press, 2018) ha ricevuto il Premio di Miglior Libro in Studi sull'UE dalla European Union Studies Association (EUSA) nel 2019 ed è stato inserito tra i primi 5 libri sul futuro dell'Europa dal Financial Times. Nel 2020 ha pubblicato il suo secondo libro "Political Entrepreneurs: The Rise of Challenger Parties in Europe" con Sara B. Hobolt (Princeton University Press) e nel 2021 un manuale "Foundations of European Politics" con Sara B. Hobolt, Sven-Oliver Proksch e Jonathan Slapin (Oxford University Press). È anche membro associato di Nuffield College presso l'Università di Oxford, membro del Comitato di Integrazione Europea del Consiglio Consultivo Olandese per gli Affari Esteri (Adviesraad Internationale Vraagstukken), del Consiglio di Amministrazione della Hertie School of Governance di Berlino. Nel 2014 ha ricevuto il Premio Emergent Scholar dell'American Political Science Association per il suo contributo nel campo delle elezioni, dell'opinione pubblica e del comportamento di voto, ed è stata selezionata come Giovane Leader Globale nel World Economic Forum nel 2013. Oltre ai libri, Catherine ha pubblicato numerosi articoli su argomenti che spaziano dal comportamento politico, dalla politica comparata europea e dall'economia politica in riviste come l'American Political Science Review, l'Annual Review of Political Science, il Journal of Politics e l'International Organization.
Catherine Eunice De Vries ha ottenuto un Master in Political Science presso il Dipartimento di Political Science dell'Università di Amsterdam, con corsi post-laurea presso il Dipartimento di Political Science della Free University di Berlino. Ha successivamente conseguito il Dottorato in Political Science presso la VU University Amsterdam, con corsi presso il Dipartimento di Political Science dell'Università di North Carolina.
