"The investment banking industry is a critical infrastructure that supports the growth of small and medium-sized businesses, therefor financial advisors in the investment banking world must possess critical thinking and a holistic approach to their clients' financial problems. First, they must understand whether the company is acting optimally from a financial perspective. If not, they must design tailored solutions using the tools that financial markets make available to CEOs and CFOs.
The learning objective of the course is to develop a touch of strategic finance in the attending students, making them aware of how to approach clients, understand their financial needs for raising and managing capital, find optimized solutions and deliver them in the best way possible. Investment banking, it is said, is the art of deal making. Understanding the pillars of this art is an integral part of the course structure.In light of these aims, the course provides also a better understanding of the recent evolution of the investment banking market in Italy and Europe, identifying key trends in the industry and highlighting the implications for the economy, businesses, regulators and policymakers."
