Global Risk Management
Geopolitical and regulatory risk in a politicized global economy
Geopolitical risk and government intervention are set to play crucial roles in the future, affecting both democratic and autocratic nations. The use of “geopolitics” by CEOs tripled in just two years by 2023, signaling a heightened awareness of global economic upheaval and instability. Recent event amplify these challenges, impacting global trade, supply chains, and everyday life.
Concurrently, governments and institutions such as the EU are increasingly interventionist, raising regulatory risks. Looking forward, technological advancements will further shape regulatory landscapes in areas like AI, genetic testing, digital currencies, and climate change.
Companies must develop agile strategies to navigate this politicized global environment, anticipating and influencing political changes through collaboration with public and social entities.
