Creating social value through a strategic, intentional, and measurable approach

Public management

Creating social impact is about more than supporting worthwhile initiatives. It requires designing interventions that generate meaningful, measurable, and lasting change.

Today, companies, foundations, investors, and nonprofit organizations are increasingly expected to embed social impact into their strategies by building effective partnerships, identifying innovative financing models, and developing robust approaches to measuring the value they create.

This program provides a managerial framework for transforming social impact from an aspirational goal into a strategic driver of innovation, growth, and long-term value creation.

Specifically, this program will enable you to:

  • Design high-impact social initiatives by defining clear objectives and developing a Theory of Change that guides implementation and evaluation.
  • Build effective partnerships among companies, public institutions, foundations, investors, and nonprofit organizations to address complex social challenges.
  • Develop business and financing models that combine financial sustainability with social value creation, leveraging approaches such as corporate giving, venture philanthropy, impact investing, and blended finance.
  • Measure, monitor, and evaluate social impact using internationally recognized frameworks and methodologies, turning evidence into actionable insights for management and decision-making.
  • Communicate and report the value created in a transparent and credible way to funders, stakeholders, and communities, strengthening accountability and organizational reputation.
  • Integrate social impact into organizational strategy, positioning it as a driver of innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development.

The Zangrillo Directive

The Zangrillo Directive requires 40 hours of training. We help you make the most of them.

The Zangrillo Directive makes 40 hours of training mandatory for public sector employees. We help turn a regulatory requirement into a strategic opportunity.

With SDA Bocconi programs for public sector professionals, you can:

    • Meet training requirements in full compliance with the Directive
    • Build a learning journey that creates impact and delivers public value
    •  Develop managerial capabilities, not just technical skills
    • Immediately apply what you learn within your organization
    • Improve performance, streamline processes, and drive innovation

Upon request, participants may take a post-program assessment at the end of the course to verify the competencies acquired. Successful completion of the assessment entitles participants to receive a certificate attesting the positive outcome of the training, in compliance with the Zangrillo Directive of 16 January 2025.
