The 2026 edition of the World’s Top 2% Scientists includes faculty members involved in SDA Bocconi’s research and teaching activities, with contributions spanning healthcare policy, business strategy, sustainability, and decision-making.

Healthcare policy, innovation, business strategy, sustainability, and decision-making are among the research fields represented in the 2026 edition of the World’s Top 2% Scientists, an international database that assesses the scientific impact of researchers based on citations to their publications.

The database is developed by a research team led by John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University and published by Elsevier, an international scientific publisher that operates Scopus, the bibliographic and citation database used for the analysis. The latest edition includes several Bocconi University faculty members who contribute to research and teaching at SDA Bocconi School of Management.

In Health Policy & Services, Oriana Ciani, Giovanni Fattore, and Rosanna Tarricone conduct research on health policy and economics, health technology assessment, and healthcare systems. Their work examines how healthcare interventions are evaluated, how resources are allocated, and how access to medical innovation is determined.

Strategy, innovation, and organizational management are also well represented. Robert M. Grant, Mario Daniele Amore, Andrea Calabrò, Alfonso Gambardella, and Gianmario Verona appear in the Business & Management field, with research covering competitive strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation processes, corporate governance, and strategic decision-making.

The same field includes Renato J. Orsato and Francesco Perrini, whose research also addresses environmental sustainability and business ethics, and Marco Tortoriello, whose disciplinary classifications encompass artificial intelligence and innovation processes. Pietro De Giovanni is listed under Operations Research, a field focused on quantitative models and methods that support operational and managerial decisions.

Anthony Michael Bertelli is included in Political Science & Public Administration, a field examining institutions, public administration, and decision-making in the public sector.

The 2026 edition of the World’s Top 2% Scientists draws on citation data available through the end of 2025 and provides two separate lists: one assessing research impact over an entire career and another based on citations received during 2025 alone. All the faculty members mentioned in this article appear on the 2025 list, with some also included in the career-long ranking. The selection uses a range of bibliometric indicators that account for both citation counts and individual authors’ contributions to scientific publications.
