In Italy and across Europe, growth is a real necessity because it determines employment, GDP, innovation, and our ability to compete with economic systems such as those of the United States and China.

This is why Dean Stefano Caselli explains, in the message opening the third edition of Idee per la Crescita, SDA Bocconi School of Management is partnering with Repubblica Affari&Finanza on the initiative.

The first event, dedicated to how leadership can contribute to growth, featured Massimo Magni on behalf of SDA Bocconi. Additional contributions came from Alessandro Benetton, Founding Managing Partner of 21 Invest, and Mario Corti, CEO of KPMG Italy.

In his closing remarks, Magni spoke about a fourth industrial revolution in which the biological and digital worlds are merging, and in which artificial intelligence must be guided by a human compass. Leadership values, he argued, are what can counter the pressures of short-term thinking, which delegates to AI responsibilities that should remain in human hands.

“We need critical and cross-functional thinking, capable of bringing different perspectives together while recognizing the privilege of being human,” he concluded.

The upcoming events in the third edition will focus on innovation with Gianmario Verona, operations and supply chains with Alberto Grando, and sustainability reporting with Annalisa Prencipe.
