On the 26th and 27th of September 2024, SDA Bocconi hosted the fourth face-to-face meeting of the HORIZON EU CINDERELLA Project.

The project is developing and evaluating the CINDERELLA approach, powered by AI, to provide comprehensive information, videos, images, and result predictions for locoregional treatments in breast cancer patients.

A multicentre, international randomized clinical trial is currently ongoing, with 60% of patient recruitment completed for surgical or radiotherapy procedures. These patients are randomized into two groups: the traditional pathway and the CINDERELLA APProach.

This study is being conducted at six clinical centres:
1. Champalimaud Foundation - Lisbon, Portugal
2. University Hospital Heidelberg (UKHD) - Heidelberg, Germany
3. Ospedale San Raffaele - Milan, Italy
4. Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer - Ramat Gan, Israel
5. Gda?ski Uniwersytet Medyczny (Medical University of Gda?sk) - Gda?sk, Poland
6. Copernicus Mamma Centrum, Wojewodzkie Centrum Onkologii, Copernicus Podmiot Leczniczy - Gda?sk, Poland

This research has the potential to improve patient satisfaction and shared decision-making, to lay the foundations for a standardized and computerized aesthetic assessment of surgical outcomes, and to set a pathway for the multidimensional evaluation of complex artificial intelligence-based interventions.
