The program which will kick off in October 19 will have a personalized focus on leadership development and will see participants studying in seven important business centres worldwide and earn two credentials

Building on a long-standing relationship, a new partnership for a Global Executive MBA program has been launched by the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and Bocconi University’s SDA Bocconi School of Management.  Students earn two credentials: an MBA from the Rotman School and a Global Executive MBA from SDA Bocconi.

The Rotman-SDA Bocconi Global Executive MBA combines the expertise and perspectives of a leading European and a leading North American business school in a transformative program hosted in international business hubs. The program provides a highly personalized focus on leadership development, and introduces students to a global network of exceptional managers, executives and thought-leaders.

The partnership is a new step forward for the Rotman School and SDA Bocconi’s Global Executive MBA programs. The new program will see students study at seven international business centres, including the universities’ home cities of Milano - a dynamic centre of manufacturing design and finance - and Toronto - Canada’s multicultural financial capital and innovation hub. It also allows students to gain insights into industries and sectors where each school has special expertise, such as food and beverage, luxury brands, and automotive manufacturing at Bocconi and fintech, risk management, and healthcare and life sciences at the Rotman School.

“The program will expand each participants’ global understanding and business skills as it is delivered through a dynamic blend of classroom discussions, convenient self-paced learning and valuable interactions with leading businesses around the globe,” says Ferdinando Pennarola, Director of the SDA Bocconi Global EMBA program and professor of the Department of Management and Technology at Bocconi University.

“By investing in this dual GEMBA program, participants will transform their strategic and operational capabilities while gaining the practical tools, creative insights and hands-on experience they need to accelerate their journey toward senior leadership,” says Prof. Brian Golden, Vice-Dean, MBA Programs at the Rotman School, who is also the Sandra Rotman Chair in Health Sector Strategy at the University of Toronto and the University Health Network.

Graduates will be connected to a global community of classmates and also benefit from the international alumni networks of the Rotman School and SDA Bocconi.

The new program also continues the Rotman School’s record of pioneering new initiatives in executive education as the home of Canada’s first Executive MBA and Global Executive MBA programs. Last month the first cohort in the Rotman School’s Global Executive MBA program for Health Care and the Life Sciences started classes.

SDA Bocconi is the leading School of Management in Italy and the only Italian School present in all of the most important International rankings (Financial Times, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Economist, Forbes).  SDA Bocconi has established itself as a European leader in management education as well as one among the few to have gained triple accreditation - EQUIS, AMBA and AACS - which puts it in the élite of Business Schools worldwide.

The first application deadline for the Rotman-SDA Bocconi Global Executive MBA program is February 11, 2019, with classes beginning in October 2019.
