Rosanna Tarricone is the Associate Dean at SDA Bocconi School of Management and Associate Professor in Public Administration at Università Bocconi, Department of Social and Political Science, Milan. She graduated in Business Administration at Università Bocconi and holds an MSc in Health Services Management and a PhD in Public Health and Policy, both from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London, UK. She has over 100 publications in the areas of health policy, healthcare management, the economic analysis of health care services and health technology assessment (HTA).
In the last 10 years Rosanna has been awarded over 10 multi-annual competitive research grants from international institutions such as the European Union, the Swiss Bridge Award and InHealth (USA). She has been the leader of MedtecHTA, a major, three-year EU-funded research project which has made recommendations on how to improve methods for assessing the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of medical devices and she currently serves as a scientific supervisor of COMED, a three-year EU-funded research project on improving assessment methods of costs and outcome analysis of medical technologies, including mhealth.
Rosanna serves as an expert for the DG Research and DG Health of the European Commission. She facilitates the continuous exchange of experiences and harmonization of methods and procedures between the HTA Agencies of the EU Member States within EUnetHTA. Since 2007 Rosanna has been an advisor for the Ministry of Health (MoH) in Italy and has contributed to the design and development of the National Programme of HTA for Medical Devices. She is part of the Panel of Experts aimed at advising the MoH on the future of the Italian National Health Service.
Between 2005 and 2010 Rosanna held the position of Director of Economic Affairs at Medtech Europe and contributed to developing research and generating robust evidence around medical devices by launching the European Health Technology Institute for Socio-Economic Research, a partnership between European universities (Università Bocconi, London School of Economics and Technische Universität Berlin) and policymakers (European Commission, WHO).
Rosanna is an active member of ISPOR. She served on the ISPOR Board of Directors from 2016-2018, and currently chairs the Publications Management Advisory Board (MAB). She was Co-Chair of the 2019 North America Conference in New Orleans.
Rosanna is also a member of iHEA (International Health Economics Association) and of HTAi (Health Technology Assessment International).
