Mario Del Vecchio is Affiliate Professor of Government, Health and Not for Profit at SDA Bocconi School of Management. He is Associate Professor at the Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine of Florence University where he is in charge of the Health Services Research Unit.
At SDA Bocconi, he was Vice Director of the "Claudio Demattè" Research Division (2004-2008) and, later, he was Director of the Master in Healthcare Management (2010-2014). At present, he is Knowledge Leader of Observatory on Private Consumption in Healthcare. He conducted research and training projects with many important national and international organisations.
His research activities focus on: private consumption in Healthcare; corporate governance and strategic choices in public healthcare organisations, planning and control systems in healthcare organisations; human resource management in brain-intensive organisations. Recently, he is analysing four main topics: relations between public and private consumption in health care; the strategy for professional communities in the healthcare field; communication in public health organisations and conditions for management development in the healthcare in Italy.
He is the author of numerous books and articles on the subject. His works have been published in Health Policy, Politiche Sociali, Italian Journal of Public Health and Mecosan, among others. He was Editor in Chief of Mecosan from 2003 to 2013 and he taught at the New York University. He routinely works with large national associations like the Italian Association of Public Healthcare Organisations (FIASO) or the Italian Nurses Association (FNOPI).
Mario earned a Degree in Economics from Bocconi University.
