Gualtiero Brugger is full Professor at Bocconi University since 1984. Moreover, he is SDA Distinguished Professor in the Knowledge Group of Corporate Finance and Real Estate at SDA Bocconi School of Management.
His collaboration with SDA Bocconi started in 1970. He has been coordinator in Master courses in Business Administration (MDA) and coordinator of the Corporate Finance. Since 1980 he has worked as economic and financial consultant, focusing in particular on the analysis and evaluation of the companies on studies for merger and acquisitions and other extraordinary finance operations, plans for financial reorganization and corporate restructuring on economic analysis for the purpose of protecting interest also in judicial or arbitration proceedings. He has held positions on behalf of various administrations (CNEL, Ministro delle Pratecipazioni Statali, Comune di Milano and Genova). As Extraordinary Commissioner he conducted a program to reorganize the Redaelli group. In 1990 he chaired the ILVA and IRITECNA liquidation committees on behalf of IRI with the task of privatizing major companies in the steel, plant and service sectors. Between 2014 and 2016 he led the restructuring of ICS Maugeri Foundation.
His research activities focuses on Finance and Business Strategies, Crisis Management and Corporate restructuring.
He is author of numerous books and articles on the subjects. His works have been published in La valutazione delle aziende, Economia&Management, Economia e politica industriale, Finanza, Marketing e Produzione. He was also author of numerous books published by EGEA, Giuffré, Zanichelli, Franco Angeli.
He earned a Degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University in 1967, awarded cum laude. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School (International Teachers Program).
