His research has largely focused on the theory of games and its economic applications, with a special emphasis on issues of bounded rationality, learning, and evolution. His recent work is devoted to understanding the interplay between individual behavior and the evolution of social networks in large and complex environments. He is the author of several books including the Complex Economic Networks (2006), Economics and the Theory of Games (2003), and Evolution, Games, and Economic Behavior (1996).Ā
Fernando got an MSc in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid and a PhD from the University of Minnesota.Ā
