Alberto Dell'Acqua is an Associate Professor of Practice in Corporate Finance and Real Estate at SDA Bocconi School of Management. He is also a Professor of Financial Management and Corporate Banking at Bocconi University.
At SDA Bocconi, he has served as the Director of the Master in Corporate Finance (MCF) and Co-Director of the Executive Master in Corporate Finance & Banking. He has undertaken numerous research projects commissioned by some of the most authoritative economic associations and institutions in Italy.
His research focuses on corporate finance, private equity and venture capital, and corporate governance. Recently, he has developed five key themes: the dynamics of the credit market influencing the cost of corporate debt, the relationship between corporate governance and the cost of equity capital, the link between the adoption of social responsibility principles and the performance of companies and investment funds, the effects of portfolio size and diversification on venture capital fund returns.
He is the author of numerous essays and articles on the topics he addresses. His works have been published in prestigious journals such as European Financial Management, Corporate Governance, International Journal of Business in Society, International Review of Financial Analysis, Applied Financial Economics, and Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management. He has conducted teaching and research projects at various international universities, including Ćcole supĆ©rieure des affaires (ESA) in Beirut (Lebanon), the University of Benghazi (Libya), and the University of Technology in Sydney (Australia). He has received numerous awards for teaching and applied research, including the "Research Award 2016" from the Accounting, Control, Corporate, and Real Estate Finance Area at SDA Bocconi, the "DIDASCO challenge 2014" award for the best teacher in knowledge management at SDA Bocconi, and a "Special Mention" in the national contest "An Idea for the Country 2011," organized by the Italia Camp association under the High Patronage of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Italy. He is Vice President of a financial advisory company for businesses and an investment company in small and medium-sized high-growth enterprises. He has held and holds roles on the board of directors of industrial, commercial, and service companies listed on stock markets, with both public and private ownership.
Alberto earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with honors from Bocconi University and a Ph.D. in Corporate Finance from the University of Trieste. He holds positions in non-profit foundations and, previously, has served as a consultant and member of ministerial committees, activities carried out pro bono. He is an active mentor for start-ups, even internationally, and enjoys running, working out at the gym, and playing padel.
