  • Research period: 2022

    Partner Entity/Funder: Arturo Toscanini Foundation

Researchers: Alex Turrini, Andrea Rurale, Piergiacomo Mion Dalle Carbonare, Marco Morelli, Barbara Canale, Marco Luchetti

Brief description: The research aimed to assess the social impact of the Toscanini Foundation, analyse the organisational change and conduct an assessment to support the introduction of a management control system. Social impact assessment of the Haydn Foundation
  • Research period: 2023-2024

Partner Entity/Funder: Haydn Foundation of Bolzano and Trento

Researchers: Alex Turrini, Piergiacomo Mion Dalle Carbonare, Marco Luchetti, Simone Manfredi

Brief description: The research aimed to design and implement a Social Impact Assessment (SIA) model defined in liaison with the Foundation. The survey analysed the social, economic and cultural fabric, the artistic activities and the stakeholders involved, focussing on three areas: decentralised activities, activities entailing a high cultural risk and the artistic staff. The results showed how the Foundation generates widespread value in the local communities, reinforces the cultural fabric with innovative experiments and is a facilitator of opportunities for musicians. The research enabled validation of a SIA (Social Impact Assessment) model that is useful both as an internal monitoring tool and as a strategic lever to consolidate the Foundation's role as a cultural and social player in the Trentino-Alto Adige area.

Proposal to assess the conditions required for inclusion of Chiaravalle in Italy’s UNESCO tentative list
  • Research period: 2024-2025

Partner Entity/Funder: Municipio 5 del Comune di Milano (Municipality 5 of the City of Milan)

    Researchers: Piergiacomo Mion, Marco Luchetti

Brief description: The study commissioned by the Municipality of Milan aimed to assess the conditions required for the candidature of the Abbazia di Chiaravalle (Chiaravalle Abbey) as a UNESCO site, focussing on the feasibility study, economic sustainability and definition of a participatory governance model. The research investigated the historical and environmental heritage of the monastery complex and the surrounding area based on archive data, interviews with experts and successful comparative cases. The results led to the definition of a possible candidature as a “mixed site”, the proposal of a multi-level governance model involving institutions, private citizens and communities, and an estimate of costs and sources of funding over a three-year period, paving the way for an innovative model of cultural and natural value enhancement.
