Biography

Valentino D’Angelo is Assistant Professor of Practice in Family Business and Corporate Governance and the coordinator of the Corporate Governance LAB, which monitors the largest 11,000 Italian companies on issues such as ownership, corporate, and managerial governance.

Valentino teaches at the undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate level in course mainly focused on the topics of General Management, Corporate and Business Strategy, and Corporate Governance. His area of expertise concern strategy and governance issues of family businesses, specifically leadership dynamics, inter-generational succession, governance structures, board of directors composition and functioning, and strategic decision-making processes.

His research focuses on topics at the intersection of strategic management and corporate governance, with particular focus on the ESG dimension. His studies have been published in international journals, such as Journal of Family Business Strategy, and presented at academic conferences, such as the Academy of Management Conference, the Baltic Family Business Conference, and the Alliance for Research on Corporate Sustainability Annual Conference. Valentino is also the author of “La buona governance” (“The Good Governance”), focusing on the governance practices of Italian private companies and their correlation with company performance.

Valentino holds a Master of Science in Managemant with a major in Corporate Finance (cum laude) and has completed his PhD Program in Business Administration and Management at the Department of Management and Technology at Bocconi University.
