Biography

Thomas Le Barbanchon is a Full Professor of Economics at Università Bocconi. Previously he worked as an economist at the French Statistical Institute and at the Ministry of Labor. 

 His research is in labor economics, with a focus on job search and matching, gender studies, discrimination and social insurance. He is the author of numerous articles on his topics of interest. His works have been published in the Journal of the European Economic Association, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, and Journal of Public Economics, among others. Between 2021 and 2024 he is Elected board member of The Review of Economic Studies and Associate Editor of The Journal of the European Economic Association.   

He got a PhD in Economics from Ecole Polytechnique in 2012, a M.Sc. in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He was Visiting Associate Professor (IRS) at Princeton University and at Harvard University.
