Biography

Gianluca Meloni is an Associate Professor of Practice of Accounting and Control at SDA Bocconi School of Management. Since January 2017, he has been the Accounting and Control Faculty Deputy at SDA Bocconi School of Management. He teaches Performance Measurement at Università Bocconi.

In 1995, he began his collaboration with SDA Bocconi. Since then, he has taught in various courses like Planning & Control Systems and Reporting Systems and Performance Evaluation. He has conducted several research, education and consulting projects with some of the leading players in the manufacturing and retail industries.

His research activities focus on three main areas: the first concerns the reporting systems and performance evaluation in commercial businesses, the second focuses on predictive analysis (and its impact on budgeting and forecasting processes) and the last deals with the possible relationships between management control systems and business intelligence systems.

He is the author of numerous books and articles on his topics of interest. His works have been published in HBR Italia, Economia & Management and Sistemi e Impresa, among others. He is a consultant to several industrial, trading and service companies. He is a reviewer for the Universal Journal of Management.

Gianluca earned a degree in Business Administration from Università Bocconi, an ITP (International Teachers Programme) organized by the IMD in 2006 and a Global Colloquium organized by Harvard Business School in 2012.
