Clément Jonathan Mazet-Sonilhac

Biography
Clément Mazet-Sonilhac is an Assistant Professor at Bocconi University, where he teaches Finance with Big Data and Financial Markets and Institutions.
He is also a Research Fellow at the Collège de France (Economics of Innovation Lab) and an affiliate of IGIER (Innocenzo Gasparini Institute for Economic Research).
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Sciences Po, Paris, under the supervision of Thomas Chaney, which he completed in 2022.
His professional experience includes serving as a Research Economist at the Banque de France and academic visits at MIT Sloan School of Management, invited by David Thesmar.
His research focuses on two core areas: technological innovation and financial intermediation. To address these topics, he combines applied econometrics, structural modeling, and machine learning methods. His work explores contemporary challenges related to climate change, innovation diffusion, and poverty reduction.
His research has been published in leading academic journals such as the American Economic Review, the Journal of International Economics, and the Journal of Labor Economics.
