Andrea Francesconi

Biography
Andrea Francesconi is Affiliate Professor of Government, Health and Not for Profit at SDA Bocconi School of Management. He is Associate Professor of Management at the University of Trento.
At SDA Bocconi, he is coordinator of courses and management training seminars in the field of Public Management and Policy. He conducted numerous workshops and consulting projects for Italian local health authorities and public administrations.He is also involved in designing management of education programs for medical and surgical scientific associations.
His research activities focus onmeasurement systems and performance evaluation, on programming systems and management control and on corporate governance systems in health services companies, public administrations and non-profit organizations. Recently, he is developing many topics related with his previous research, among others we can remember: the analysis of government models of waiting times in health care companies, value based healthcare, innovation in public administration, public reporting and innovative business models for health service management, welfare and e-welfare.
He is the author of numerous books and articles on the subject. His works have been published in Politiche Sanitarie, Mecosan, Italy- Economia aziendale web and International journal of arts management, among others. He is editorial board member of Mecosan and Azienda Pubblica. He won many awards for his teaching activity: the awards for the excellence in teaching (SDA Bocconi 2008), the award for the excellence in training initiatives coordination (SDA Bocconi 2009) and the award for excellence relationships with training programs buyers (SDA Bocconi 2010 e 2011). He was Visiting Student at Leonard Davis Institute (USA), responsible of the Precious Health network, Erasmus Responsible for Trento University in charge for various destinations and he has taken part in many different networks of important international universities and management training institutions.
Andrea earned a Degree and a Ph.D. in Business Administration both from Bocconi University.
