Biography

Andrea Biancardi is Assistant Professor of Practice in Sustainability at SDA Bocconi School of Management.

His research focuses on corporate sustainability, the energy transition, energy geopolitics, innovation, and sustainable finance. Over the years, he has worked on numerous research projects for major organizations such as Enel, Terna, A2A, Réseau de Transport d'Électricité (RTE), Antin Infrastructure Partners, Argos Wityu, and many others. At SDA Bocconi, he has also coordinated several custom executive education programs for the Enel Group, including the Enel Green Power School of Business Development, the School of Engineering & Construction, the School of Planning & Control, and the School of Procurement. Additionally, he has led executive training programs for other major organizations such as AXA, Snam, and Eni.

He leads the Bocconi Summer School in Sustainability Transformation, ESG Finance, and Energy Management at Bocconi University.  At Bocconi University he also teaches Transformative SustainabilityGreen Management & Corporate Sustainability, and Geopolitics of the Energy Transition

Andrea is also a member of the Board of Directors at Bracchi S.p.A. – Transport & Logistics, a company providing high value-added transport and logistics services. 

Prior to joining SDA Bocconi, he was a Research Assistant at the Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources at University College London (UCL), where he focused on Climate Finance and Energy Policy. He also worked for several years as a consultant in the energy sector. 

Andrea holds an M.Sc. in Finance from Bocconi University, a diploma in Geopolitics and Global Security from the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI), and a PhD from Imperial College London, where he studied the evolution of the electricity sector with a focus on the strategic innovation of European electricity transmission system operators (TSOs).
