Alfredo Biffi

Alfredo Biffi is an Affiliate Professor of Information Systems at SDA Bocconi School of Management. He is an Associate Professor of Organization, Economics Department, at Università dell’Insubria. He is a Professor at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan

At SDA Bocconi, he is responsible for the Project Management educational paths,   directed the Information Systems Department from 2004 to 2006 and was Vice Director of the Information Systems Department from 2001 to 2003. He has conducted numerous research, educational and consulting projects in several different business sectors (finance, public administration, cooperation and manufacturing) with a specific focus on banking and on interdisciplinary topics in project management.

His research activities focus on information systems, process design and on project management. Currently, he is working on the following specific topics: the evolution of company organizational structures in a project based logic; the development of project&process based competence profiles; the use of ICT for modeling innovation-oriented organizational structures; and the development of entrepreneurship and innovation.

He is the author of numerous books and articles on his topics of interest. His works have been published in Management Learning, Education& Training, Economia&Management, various Conference Proceedings, Rivista di Impiantistica Italiana and Sviluppo&Organizzazione, among others. He was a member of the editorial board of Economia&Management and of ETAS Milano for more than twenty years. He is a member of the scientific committee of AICE (Associazione italiana dell’International Council of Cost Engineering). He is a referee for Economia Aziendale Web and for the International Journal of Engineering Management and Economics.

Alfredo earned a degree in Business Economics (thesis in Office Automation) at Università Bocconi. He is the holder of a Wood Badge certificate.
