Alberto Grando

Biography

Alberto Grando is a Professor of Operations & Supply Chain Management.

He is a Full Professor at the Department of Management and Technology at Università Bocconi. At SDA Bocconi, he was Dean from 2006 to 2012. At Università Bocconi, he was Vice Rector for Development from 2012 to 2016 and Dean for Strategy Implementation from 2017 to 2018. Currently he serves as President of the Evaluation Committee at Università Bocconi

His research activities focus on supply chain and logistics management, operations organization and management and performance measurement. Currently, he is taking an interest in sustainable operations management, lean thinking and Industry 4.0.

He is the author of numerous books and articles on his topics of interest. His works have been published in the International Journal of Production Research, Production Planning and Control, the International Journal of Automotive Technology and Management, the European Management Journal, Total Quality Management & Business Excellence, Human Systems Management and Economia & Management, among others.

He has conducted numerous research projects and workshops in large companies operating in the manufacturing industry as well as in many small and medium-sized enterprises.

He was a Visiting Professor at Cranfield School of Management (UK) and at other international universities and schools; he is a Board Member of various Scientific and Academic Advisory Boards of national and international Institutions and research centers.

Alberto earned a degree in Business Administration from Università Bocconi and an ITP (International Teachers Programme) from London Business School.
