Appointed Head of Information Technology and CIO of the NestleĢ Group as of April 2021, Chris Wright leads the Information Technology unit of the world’s largest food and beverage company. From the Group headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland, Chris’ role is to make sure IT is a strategic enabler of NestleĢ’s continued journey in the digital age.
Chris began his career in the Information Technology (IT) function of NestleĢ UK in 1995, after graduating from the University of Bristol with a Master’s in Science.
In 2004, Chris joined the IT team in Switzerland as GLOBE Template Reporting Solutions Lead where he played a key role in designing and deploying global Reporting and Data foundations, several of which are still used today. In 2009, Chris changed focus when he was promoted Business Integration Manager to govern the relationship with three of our Globally Managed Businesses across all aspects of IT. In 2013, Chris was promoted Global IT Lead for Analytics, Data and Integration (ADI), reporting to the Group CIO. In this capacity he was responsible for the delivery, deployment and sustain of all ADI tools, platforms, solutions and services globally for the NestleĢ Group.
Chris was appointed Head of the Office of the CIO in 2019, directly supporting the CIO as his deputy. In this role he was responsible for functional performance, setting the strategy and driving transformation.
As a highly experienced IT professional and respected member of the IT Senior Management team, Chris Wright stepped up as CIO ad interim in October 2020. His broad IT experience, extensive knowledge of the NestleĢ environment and strong ability to bring people together secured his permanent appointment in the role.
Outside of work, Chris is a keen skier, ski tourer, biker and hiker, and loves the mountains and outdoors.
