Chevron Technical Center – Information Technology

Matt Anderson is the digital performance general manager for Chevron Information Technology (IT). He is based in Houston, Texas. Matt assumed this role in 2023 to lead Chevron IT’s strategy and digital performance and focuses on aligning technology maturity opportunities with Chevron’s overall business performance.

 In addition, he is responsible for portfolio prioritization and continuous improvement opportunities by leveraging benchmarking insights to drive improved performance and capture business value that supports Chevron’s mission to deliver reliable, affordable, ever-cleaner energy. Matt joined Chevron in 2001 as a messaging design analyst and for the past 23 years, has held technical and management positions across the energy value chain in Texas, California, and Scotland. 

Most recently, he was the general manager of the Subsurface Digital Platform where he led digital operations and established the Subsurface technical strategy to align end to end workflow delivery and modernize legacy capabilities. He has also served as the chief information officer for the Mid-Continent Business Unit, Chevron’s largest shale and tight business, and led the strategy, new capability delivery, and maintenance and operations of office and field business solutions. 

Matt has held a myriad of IT leadership roles from Supply and Trading, Shipping to Infrastructure and Applications, leading strategy and operations for the systems behind all supply and trading activities, driving development and support of vessel systems, and supporting infrastructure and server operations, respectively. 

Matt received his bachelor’s degree in business administration in management information systems from Washington State University
