In a world where geopolitical risk is no longer a background condition but a primary driver of markets and policy, understanding how global dynamics are evolving is becoming a critical skill for executives.

Over the past few years, something structural has changed in the global system. What used to be “neutral infrastructure” of globalization—energy, supply chains, financial systems, security guarantees—is increasingly being used as a strategic tool. Interdependence is no longer just about efficiency, but rather about power, leverage, and vulnerability.

In the short term, this translates into a more fragile equilibrium in which energy and markets remain exposed to geopolitical chokepoints.
Looking at the medium term, the key question is even more fundamental:
are we moving toward fragmentation, or toward a more selective form of globalization—what many now call derisking?
This tension will shape financial markets and corporate strategies.

If these themes are relevant to your work, you will meet the Director of the Global Risk Management program of SDA Bocconi School of Management, in partnership with EUI School of Transnational Governance, Carlo Altomonte, SDA Bocconi, together with Brunello Rosa, Adjunct Professor, SDA Bocconiand Kristin Fabbe, Full-time Professor, EUI
We will discuss:

  • how global risk is changing in structure—not just intensity
  • which capabilities are needed to interpret economic and geopolitical shocks
  • how to navigate a system where risks are increasingly systemic and interconnected

The session will also include an Alumni Insight, offering a concrete perspective on how these frameworks translate into real-world decision-making.

We will close with a live Q&A, so you can engage directly with us and explore the topics most relevant to you.

If you want to move beyond headlines and build a structured understanding of global risk, this session is a good place to start.

Participation is free upon online registration.
