Leggere il Presente | Le corti e il declino della democrazia

Democracies are regressing and fundamental principles are under pressure. Constitutional courts, increasingly under attack, are seeing their independence challenged. Will they be able to contain the crisis of liberal democracy? And with which tools?
Marta Cartabia, Full Professor of Constitutional Law at Bocconi University, former President of the Italian Constitutional Court and former Minister of Justice, and author of Custodi della democrazia. La Costituzione, le corti e i confini del politico (Egea), will discuss these issues with Daria De Pretis, Professor Emerita at the University of Trento and former Constitutional Court judge. Moderated by journalist Stefano Feltri.
Leggere il presente is SDA Bocconi Roma's book club. A series of meetings where the issues reshaping businesses, markets and institutions become conversation: with those who study them, those who live them, those who decide. Each appointment starts from a concrete question and a book that brings it into focus. In one hour, it becomes clear where the game is played and what room for action is available.
