Generating value through substantive compliance and the adoption of virtuous conduct towards customers and other stakeholders: this is the challenge banks face today. Conduct risk undermines trust, damages reputations, and can destabilize the entire system. Culture, internal controls, and board awareness are essential tools for translating the values of integrity and accountability into practice.

A conversation based on the book Il conduct risk nelle banche - cause, effetti e mitigazione (Giappichelli) by Alessandro Carretta, Doriana Cucinelli, Lucrezia Fattobene, Paola Schwizer and Maria Gaia Soana. The event opens with Alessandro Carretta, Emeritus Professor at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, together with Paola Schwizer, Full Professor of Financial Intermediaries Economics at the University of Parma and Affiliate Professor at SDA Bocconi School of Management.

They are joined by Pierantonio Zanettin, President of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into the banking, financial and insurance system, Federico Cornelli, Commissioner at CONSOB, Claudia Cattani, Chair of BNL BNP Paribas, and Sabrina Bruno, Full Professor of Comparative Private Law and Business Law at the University of Calabria. Moderated by journalist Stefano Feltri.

Leggere il presente is SDA Bocconi Roma's book club. A series of meetings where the issues reshaping businesses, markets and institutions become conversation: with those who study them, those who live them, those who decide. Each appointment starts from a concrete question and a book that brings it into focus. In one hour, it becomes clear where the game is played and what room for action is available.
