Can HR strategically contribute and really drive business value? The pharmaceutical business has been experiencing critical and fast changes in the last few years.
Pfizer HR is making significant changes in how it is structured and how it operates.
The changes are driven by the goal to position the HR function well to drive new business value and respond to emerging business needs. Firstly, to have the most capable senior leaders, managers and colleagues in the world. Secondly, to focus HR resources to more effectively deliver operational services, through standardized global solutions and processes, and strategic people practices in order to drive Pfizer’s business result. Finally, to reduce the cost structure of the HR organization.
Prior to set up this terrific change path, Pfizer HR had a traditional division organizational model. The redesign of the HR models has been based on the centralization of main HR activities through an extensive use of HRIS services and at the same time the accountability of managers in the execution of HRM processes.
HR is focused on the sustainability of the organization and the engagement of key stakeholders, going beyond the mere concept of partnership.
HRM is then becoming more and more a core-value for the entire organization.

Most recently Rachna served in the same capacity for Worldwide Biopharmaceutical Businesses.
She has worked in the Pharmaceutical industry for the past 12 years and has worked in the Financial and Legal industries prior to joining Pfizer Inc.
