I am a former scientist and I spent my last four years at the Institute Curie, in Paris. There, I performed a PhD in biomedical science and drug development, within the frame of multidisciplinary European project.
Despite my early academic successes, I soon realized that my scientific achievements alone would have been insufficient to secure what I was aiming for, a managerial position in the pharmaceutical business. Precisely, I am convinced that key profiles within the pharmaceutical firms must have a strong scientific background as well as a managerial and business acumen.
On this basis, I decided to attend MIHMEP. The completion of MIHMEP represents an essential step for my next career path, laying the groundwork for a successful future managerial profile within the pharmaceutical and health sector.

As a medical doctor from Nigeria, MIHMEP was the open door to my career in health economics, policy, management and global health and development. As a healthcare professional, many things bothered me about the quality of care available but top on the list was inequitable, inadequate and many times total lack of prompt access to quality healthcare services including in emergencies in lower resource settings. While I developed an interest in the social and economic issues of access to care, the final realization that many of these issues could not be addressed in a consulting room piqued my desire for knowledge and skills that could matter.
Studying at SDA Bocconi, my first time in Milan and Italy, was a relatively great experience. In and through the program, I have been exposed to industry leaders, field experts, professors, leaders doing great things, various international perspectives, amazing colleagues, multicultural teams, and backgrounds. Studying course materials, hard work, presentations, case studies, discussions, practical applications of learned materials, reports, and an internship boosted my hard and soft skills and competencies for global health roles.
I chose the program because of the content of the programme, the duration, values, diversity, access to the alumni network, and avenues for practical training to become an excellent health manager, economist and policy professional with the right knowledge, insights, know-how and skills to achieve more positive impact.
