Master in Management of Performing Arts

Program

The Master in Management of Performing Arts (MASP) is a one-year program designed for those who wish to pursue a managerial career within the entertainment industry. The program is designed to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of the performing arts industry, both at a national and international level, and to prepare them for a career in any area of the business, from production to marketing and distribution.

For this program, SDA Bocconi has joined forces with two other leading institutions: Accademia Teatro alla Scala and Piccolo Teatro di Milano. This powerful collaboration enables SDA Bocconi to offer you specialist management training combined with first-hand exposure to the inner-workings of the performing arts industry.

Lectures and related activities are held both at the university campus and within the premises of the theatres, allowing you to be in direct contact with professionals from the start, whether it is on stage, behind the scenes, or in the production offices.

The program is taught over twelve months, starting in January and finishing in March of the following year, with a two-month break during summer.

"Maestro Bertolt Brecht used to say that performing arts lived on stage. Today we would mention also different spaces such as streets, squares, etc. What remains unchanged is the high understanding of arts and culture as tools able both to convey ethic and aesthetic values and to promote education and participation. MASP supports performing arts organisations in their needs for economics and management principles and models, developing specific strategies to improve their viability.
Welcome to Master in Management of Performing Arts."
