Financial analysis and financial company performance assessment services

SDA Bocconi School of Management offers financial analysis and financial company performance assessment services for companies in the credit and financial sector (banks, holdings, etc.) that are called upon to draft and provide evaluations of such institutions, as well as for the companies that are themselves being analyzed.

These services are based on the activities of OSSFIN, which has been working in the Banking and Insurance Department of the School for over 15 years. It is the main source of financial analyses and assessments of the performance of financial institutions, making precise reclassifications and meticulous analyses of their financial statements, taking into account the particular bookkeeping issues and the various aspects of their activities in different sectors.

The initiative combines the scientific discipline of analysis with an absolute effectiveness of use, and its aim is to help satisfy the real needs of those who work in the financial system.

Signing up to the service gives the right to receive an annual report on the sector or sectors chosen. This consists of an aggregate balance of the sector, duly reclassified and expressed in percentages in a series of fiscal indicators specially studied for the particular characteristics of the sector, and a comment on trends in the sector for the years available.

Participants also receive an annual report on the sector or sectors chosen. Starting out from the aggregate balance of the sector, duly reclassified and expressed in percentages in a series of indicators, the specific aspects of the sector are examined and a comment is given on their trends and dynamics over time.

Activities

Drawing on its experience in research, its knowledge of operations and its independent status, OSSFIN runs a budget analysis and performance evaluation service, which is aimed at:

  • Financial and credit companies - such as banks, holdings, etc. – that need to rate other companies or institutions;
  • The very same companies that are being studied.

The balance sheet is reclassified and rigorously analysed, taking into consideration accounting issues and the type of work carried out in each industry sector.

Advantages of Membership

As an OSSFIN member, you are entitled to receive a copy of the annual reports for your industry sectors of interest. Each report includes an aggregated balance sheet, reclassified for the industry sector in question, a series of balance sheet indicators that are specific to that sector and an overview of the industry for the years where information is available. We aim to provide a full picture with our yearly reports.

Participants also receive an annual report on the sector or sectors chosen. Starting out from the aggregate balance of the sector, duly reclassified and expressed in percentages in a series of indicators, the specific aspects of the sector are examined and a comment is given on their trends and dynamics over time.
